Amiford

Our clients are an active retired couple we met years ago when we did garden maintenance at their Condo complex in La Jolla. We were approached to do the design and installation of his childhood home on the Sunset Cliffs side of Point Loma. We collaborated with Bruce Peeling, AIA and his lovely wife Megan Bryan of Megan Bryan Interiors. The resulting landscape compliments the understated Architecture. We were able to keep (and protect) an ancient Plumeria tree which became an anchor point in the design of the whole space. We added soft grasses, monolithic steel planters with Aloes and Agaves. We attacked drainage issues and privacy concerns. Walking through the offset entry leads into a courtyard that opens up to unobstructed views of the Pacifc. A major nod goes to Travis at Derks Construction for the attention to detail on the home.
