Arroyo

On a tucked away block east of the tracks in Encinitas, CA lies Arroyo Dr. From the street the home is unpretentious and ordinary. But walkthrough the entry into the home and you will get expansive views of the coast, the tracks, Highway 101. For a growing family of 4, the home needed a major renovation, inside and out.

FWL was brought in to transform the space and create a usable connection between the entry and the yard. We graded the side yard and terraced walls to add 2 parking spaces and a safe way to access the backyard. Privacy cedar screens and tropical foliage were introduced to give the home a more appropriate sense of place. A large pool and spa, outdoor kitchen and play areas were designed to capture views and bring the outdoors in.

Thanks to the ARC team for tackling the pool on this one. Thank you to our clients for keeping us on during the height of the pandemic and trusting the vision. Challenges were abundant, not least of which was dealing with City requirements, but we pushed through and are proud of the results.
