A modern aesthetic and simple materials best describes this La Jolla, CA project. FWLI used concrete, Ipe wood, and ‘planting drifts’ in the landscape to reference a ‘Coastal Zen’ feel. The materials reinforces the modern aesthetic of the house (Jackson Design & Remodeling), and imbues boldness into the design intent.
Texture, pattern, and material are the major themes of the design while embracing a seamless transition from indoor and outdoor living.
Design elements: Brazillian Ipe wood decking, Japanese Black Pines (trained), exposed aggregate driveway, Fire-pit by Solus, Weaver’s Bamboo screening
